Access to the Reading Rooms is available without booking an appointment. According to the currently valid Basic Protection Measures Ordinance of the Berlin Senate, access to the reading rooms of both sites of the Staatsbibliothek is possible without restrictions. If using special materials, it is best to contact the Special Reading Room in question in advance.
You can also book individual seats in the Newspaper Reading Room for use of the microfilm scanners and microfilm readers.
