The standardised recording and cooperative use of provenance data is a central topic of the specimen-specific indexing that has become a core task at numerous libraries. Established instruments are the Thesaurus of Provenance Terms (T-PRO) and the use of standards data. Provenance research in the area of the search for looted Nazi property in German libraries is receiving special support; at the same time, this research places specific demands on indexing.
For more than five years, provenances have been recorded in the GBV according to the new "shared level" model in field 9100, which is now also available in K10plus. In this field, the direct use of GND data for provenance indexing is possible. Provenance features can be recorded and linked as standards data on the basis of image files.
The training aims to impart and deepen practice-oriented knowledge on the various aspects of provenance indexing as well as the possibilities of recording via field 9100 in K10plus.
